Biesiekirski set for World Supersport return at Misano

11/06/2025

Piotr Biesiekirski will return to the FIM World Supersport Championship action during this weekend’s round six at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. The only Polish rider on the grid, Biesiekirski will be making his first appearance with the French Flembbo team, while also enjoying his race debut aboard the Italian-made MV Agusta.

After contesting the full World Supersport season last year, the 23-year-old starts his 2025 campaign midway through the calendar, having missed the opening rounds due to a shoulder injury. Over the next three events Biesiekirski will step in for injured Frenchman Loic Arbel.

The Pole had a first taste of his new machine – the three-cylinder MV Agusta F3 800 RR – during a brief test session at Misano a month ago, but heavy rain forced the team to abandon further running after just 20 minutes on track.

As a result, Biesiekirski approaches this weekend more as a testing opportunity ahead of the upcoming rounds in July at Donington Park in the UK and Balaton Park in Hungary.

The World Supersport field will tackle two races this weekend – one on Saturday and one on Sunday, both scheduled for 12:35 local time. Friday’s action includes a free practice session in the morning, followed by Superpole qualifying at 13:55.

“Last year I raced in Misano in the World Supersport Championship, but I can’t really say I’ve done many laps around this track,” says Piotr Biesiekirski“We came here for a test with my new team a month ago, but after just 20 minutes it started raining heavily and the rest of the day was cancelled. Still, it was better than nothing. I’m treating this first race weekend more like a test session, especially since the poor weather in Poland recently has made it difficult to get any bike time. It’s going to be a challenging weekend, but we plan to experiment a lot with the bike setup – even between Race 1 and Race 2 – to better understand the MV Agusta. In World Supersport, track time is very limited, so we can’t afford to play it safe when it comes to making changes.”
