Biesiekirski returns to „special” Aragon

07/10/2022

Piotr Biesiekirski is returning to European Moto2 Championship action this weekend after the summer break, with round six set to take part at the Motorland Aragon circuit, where he made his series debut in 2018.

Only 16 at the time, Biesiekirski impressed with a double points-scoring finish, becoming the youngest rider in the Championship and the first ever Pole. In the last two seasons he also took part in three Moto2 World Championship starts at the Motorland Aragon circuit.

Riding for the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic Team, the now 21-year-old is currently eight in the overall standings with three races still to go, including the two in Aragon this Sunday. The Pole however isn’t focusing on the standings, but simply wants to end the season on a high note with the races scheduled for Sunday at 11 AM and 2 PM CET. Live coverage will be available at https://youtu.be/H8UZMFFJSAU .

“I like Motorland Aragon and it’s also a pretty special place for me – says Piotr Biesiekirski. – I have a lot of memories from this place, as that’s where I made my European Moto2 debut in 2018 being only 16 years old and then raced there three times in the Moto2 World Championship. I really like the layout of this circuit. It’s fast, flowing, full of elevation changes and every type of corners you can imagine, demanding a lot of precision on turn-in and holding the right lines. Riding here is a lot of fun but the level is always very high, so it won’t be an easy weekend, especially with the changeable weather. We’ll give it our best”.
