Two Grand Prix wildcards for Biesiekirski

20/10/2021

20-year-old Piotr Biesiekirski is set to take part in the final two races of the Moto2 World Championship this November with wildcard entries for the Grande Premio do Algarve and Grand Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana.

The only Pole on the grid will return to Grand Prix action together with the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic Team, the Spanish outfit he’s racing for in the European Moto2 Championship, having already entered the Catalan and Aragon events earlier this year.

The Grande Premio do Algarve will take place on the first weekend of November with Grand Premio Motul de la de Comunitat Valenciana a week later, followed by the European Moto2 Championship season finale at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo making in a back-to-back triple-header for the young Pole.

“After a bit of a break since my last wildcard in the Aragon Grand Prix we are now set for a very intense end to the season with three back-to-back race weekends – says Piotr Biesiekirski. – The circuits in Portimao and Valencia are very different to each other, but I really like them both. Taking part in the final two rounds of the Moto2 World Championship is a great preparation for 2022 and a perfect opportunity to gain mileage on this specification of the Moto2 bike. Having raced in the Valencian Grand Prix last year I’m curious to return there twelve months later. On the other hand, Portimao will be quite a challenge as the Championship already raced there at the beginning of the season, while I never rode a GP-spec Moto2 bike there. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to a really intense November”.
