Despite a successful debut last year, Piotr Biesiekirski will not take part in the 2025 FIM World Supersport Championship as a permanent rider. The Pole is however aiming to apply for entries for selected races.
The first and only Polish rider in the FIM Moto2 World Championship, Biesiekirski made his FIM World Supersport Championship debut in 2024. Riding a Ducati Panigale V2, the 22-year-old consistently fought for points-scoring positions inside the Top 15.
Despite a solid debut, the only Polish rider in the series was unable to secure the budget needed to continue racing and capitalize on the experience gained last year.
The now 23-year-old plans to apply for wildcard entries for selected rounds of this year’s FIM World Supersport Championship and aims to return to full-time competition in 2026.
“My last year’s debut in the FIM World Supersport Championship was an exceptional experience that taught me a great deal,” said Piotr Biesiekirski. “Together with my team, we were able to fight for points and challenge for the top ten during races that were broadcast to over 140 million viewers worldwide. We also showed that we’re capable of taking the next step and compete for even higher positions. Unfortunately, to make that step and continue racing at the same high level, we needed to secure enough funding. We couldn’t do that, which means I won’t be on the grid for now, but we’re not giving up. I want to take part in at least a few races as a wildcard this year and prepare as best as I can for a full-time return to the grid in 2026. At the same time, I would like to thank all the fans who have supported me so strongly, not only last season but throughout my challenging journey to the World Championship.”
