Piotr Biesiekirski presents new Moto2 livery

27/04/2023

During a two-day test in Estoril, Portugal, where the Moto2 European Championship season will start in two weeks, the only Pole on the grid, Piotr Biesiekirski, presented this year’s colors of his motorcycle and the new team, Fau55 Euvic Racing.

The 21-year-old flew to Portugal after winning three of the first four races of the Spanish Superstock 1000 class championship and on Monday rode a Moto2 motorcycle for the first time since the end of last year’s European Championship. This is a prototype machine with an aluminum frame from the German Kalex and a three-cylinder engine from the British Triumph with a capacity of 765 cm3, power of approx. 140 hp and weight of approx. 150 kg.

During the two-day tests, Biesiekirski and his teammate, Spaniard Yeray Ruiz, were preparing for the first two races of the season, which will take place on May 7 at the track in Estoril.

In total, during this year’s seven weekends of the Moto2 European Championship, riders will compete in eleven races on the most famous Spanish and Portuguese tracks, such as venues known from MotoGP or Formula 1 in Barcelona, Jerez de la Frontera, Valencia, Portimao, Estoril or Aragon. 29 motorcyclists from all over the world will compete.

“The test was very successful,” says Piotr Biesiekirski. “Although I’ve had a great start to the season in the Spanish Championship, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect in Portugal as I haven’t been on a Moto2 bike in six months. However, I quickly picked up a fast and steady pace, so I can’t wait for the first races. With a very competitive bike and a strong and capable team behind me and phenomenal fans behind me, I am confident that we will have an exciting and successful season.”

“It was great to see Piotr in such good shape from the very first laps on the Moto2 bike,” adds Fau55 Euvic Racing team principal and former world runner-up Hector Faubel. “We have done a very good job together in Estoril over the two days and we are ready for the first races. Piotr trained very intensively this winter and his program was very varied, but I can also see that he had a lot of fun. All this meant that Piotr has made great progress in recent months, which is best confirmed by his victories in the Spanish championship. So I’m sure we’ll have a very good season together in the European Championship.”
