Piotr Biesiekirski will be unable to take part in the upcoming Moto2 World Championship season finale having tested positive for Covid19 ahead of the Valencian Grand Prix.
The 20-year-old Pole was set to take part in his fourth wild card appearance of the season but will now focus on his recovery, with his European Moto2 Championship teammate Dimas Ekky Pratama set to replace him onboard the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic bike this weekend.
“I was really looking forward to race in this weekend’s Valencian Grand Prix as it’s pretty much a home away from home race for me – says Piotr Biesiekirski. – Unfortunately I have tested positive for Covid before the event and remain in isolation with some symptoms, so my full focus is now on my recovery. I wish my teammate Dimas good luck for the weekend and hope he’ll enjoy the Valencian Grand Prix”.
