Biesiekirski improves during Teruel GP

23/10/2020

NTS RW Racing GP’s Piotr Biesiekirski started his only fifth Moto2 World Championship event by improving his previous best time by two tenths of a second.

Just as the Aragon GP last weekend, the Teruel GP takes place at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain. Friday saw the only Pole on the grid improving his best time from the previous event by two tenths o a second, to end the day with a 1:55.084.

While he finished the day in the final, 30th position, just 3.1s from the leader, the youngest rider on the grid was pleased with his progress as he looks to improve further during tomorrow’s final practice and the qualifying session.

„It was a busy day – says the 19-year-old Piotr Biesiekirski. – I couldn’t quite get the feeling this morning even if the bike worked well, but I knew that I can improve a lot in the afternoon and that’s what happened. I went two tenths quicker in FP2 than in the qualifying last Saturday so I’m quite happy with that. Everything was coming a bit easier in the afternoon and I was riding better, almost getting into 1:54s. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite do it after the second red flag as the tyres were starting to slide quite a bit, especially in the left corners. There’s still a big margin to improve so I’m looking forward to continue our progress tomorrow”.
