23-year-old Piotr Biesiekirski brought his motorcycle racing career to a close by finishing just shy of the points-scoring positions during the World Supersport Championship races at Hungary’s Balaton Park circuit.
Round eight of the 2025 season – Biesiekirski’s third World Championship outing of the year – marked his farewell to professional motorcycle racing.
Riding an MV Agusta for the French Flembbo Racing Team, the Polish rider fought his way into the top twenty in both races and challenged for a top-fifteen finish.
On Saturday, Biesiekirski scored his best result of the season with a 17th-place finish, but on Sunday he was forced to retire following a minor low-side crash.
The Hungarian round brought down the curtain on a professional racing journey that began exactly a decade ago.
Over the years, the Warsaw-born rider claimed the Moto3 Polish title, became a regular race winner in the Spanish Championships, and made his international debut in the European and later Moto2 World Championships.
He spent the final two seasons competing full-time in World Supersport.
“It was a very positive weekend, particularly in terms of practice and the first race, which I’m really happy with,” said Piotr Biesiekirski. “The start of the second race was pretty chaotic. I lost a few positions early on, but I felt great on the bike and was able to make up ground quite comfortably, passing riders one by one. Unfortunately, I made a small mistake and tipped the bike over in a slow corner. I wasn’t hurt, but I couldn’t continue. It’s a pity because we had the pace to at least match Saturday’s result.
“Still, it was a positive weekend and we worked really well as a team. I want to thank all the fans who once again cheered me on so passionately from the grandstands, and everyone who has supported me over the past ten years. I’m excited to see what the future holds and encourage everyone to keep following my social media channels, which will remain active. I’ll be sharing my next plans there in the coming weeks.”
