Biesiekirski takes points in Aragon

Piotr Biesiekirski finished the races of the sixth round of the European Moto2 Championship at the Motorland Aragon circuit in tenth and ninth position, scoring more points for the overall standings despite aiming way higher on Sunday.

The only Pole on the grid qualified in eleventh position for the two races in Spain and spent both engaged in tough battles inside the Top 10. The 21-year-old crossed the line of race two just 0.3 of a second from seventh.

After two more points-scoring finishes the rider of the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic Team is ninth in the overall standings with the final race of the season set to take place at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia at the end of October.

“Motorland Aragon is a special place for me, so I was looking for a strong weekend – says Piotr Biesiekirski. – Instead, while I scored points in both races, in the end it was a weekend to forget, as I was nowhere near my goals. Both races were very exciting and full of some good battles but not for the positions I was hoping for. For some reason I wasn’t feeling great on track, but I wasn’t going to give up. Starting from eleventh I knew it will be tough and that’s how it turned out. I’m looking forward to ending the season on a good note in Valencia”.
