Biesiekirski ready for hot Jerez

01/07/2022

Piotr Biesiekirski is set to race at the hot and windy Jerez de la Frontera during the fourth round of the European Moto2 Championship this weekend.

With only one race scheduled for Sunday, the riders will give it their all when the lights go out at 1 PM CET on Sunday.

With a sixth position in 2020 being his best European Moto2 result at Jerez, Biesiekirski is looking forward to another strong weekend, having finished just four seconds from podium last time out in Barcelona.

The 20-year-old Pole will also be looking to build the momentum going into the next round, with two races scheduled in Portimao, Portugal, in a fortnight.

“I really like the Jerez circuit and would love to have two races here this weekend, as it’s always good fun and good racing – says Piotr Biesiekirski, riding for the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic Team. – It’s a great track with a good flow so I’m hoping for a good weekend. Qualifying will be very important and very interesting. It was quite windy on Friday morning and then very hot in the afternoon, but lap times were very similar, so anything can happen in both qualifying sessions”.
