This weekend’s races at Hungary’s Balaton Park, the eighth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship, will mark Piotr Biesiekirski’s final appearance in front of Polish fans and the end of his professional racing career.
The 23-year-old from Warsaw began his motorcycle racing journey exactly a decade ago, a path that ultimately led him to the very top of the sport.
After achieving numerous successes in Spain, widely regarded as the heartland of motorcycle racing, Biesiekirski competed in the Moto2 World Championship and made his full-season debut in World Supersport last year.
Now, he is set to close this chapter of his life with a farewell appearance in the same series.
The two World Supersport races at Balaton Park will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 3:15 p.m. local time.
“This decision has been growing inside me for quite some time, and this weekend feels like the perfect moment to close the chapter that has been the most important in my life so far,” said Piotr Biesiekirski. “I’m grateful to be able to do it on the world stage, racing in the WorldSBK paddock, which I hadn’t originally planned on joining this season due to last year’s injury. I’m also happy to be racing in Hungary, so close to the Polish border. The incredible support I’ve received from Polish fans over the years has always meant a great deal to me. I want to thank not only all the fans, but also my loved ones and everyone who helped me pursue my racing goals over the years, including the Euvic Group. While I’m stepping away from professional racing, motorcycles will definitely remain a big part of my life.”
