Solid Friday for Biesiekirski in Aragon

10/09/2021

19-year-old Piotr Biesiekirski finished the first two practice sessions of the Moto2 Aragon Grand Prix in 31st and 32st position respectively, improving by an impressive 1.4s in the afternoon.

The only Pole on the grid finished the opening session 3.7s from the leader and improved his best lap time by 1.4s in the second practice, ending the day just 2.6s from the first position, in 32nd place.

Saturday will see the riders taking part in the final free practice in the morning and the qualifying in the afternoon with the Sunday’s race starting at 12:20 PM CET.

“It was a good and productive day – says Piotr Biesiekirski, riding for the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Euvic Team. – I’m really happy with my pace on the very first laps considering that I haven’t ridden a Moto2 bike in the World Championship specification for over three months. We were focusing on setup and tyre tests today but I knew that I can improve by pace in the afternoon and did so. I went a full 1.4s faster than in the first practice, so I’m pleased with how the day went. Tomorrow we’ll keep focusing on race pace in the final practice before going for a lap on the soft tyres in the qualifying”.
