Busy Friday for Biesiekirski at the Valencia GP

13/11/2020

19-year-old Piotr Biesiekirski completed a total of 39 laps during Friday’s practice sessions ahead of the Sunday’s Moto2 Valencia Grand Prix, ending the day in 29th position, just 2.5 of a second from the leader.

Riders took full advantage of favourable weather conditions on the opening day of the second consecutive Grand Prix at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Friday saw 24 of the 29 riders within one second on their fastest laps.

The only Pole on the grid, riding for the NTS RW Racing GP Team, managed to post an almost identical time on both of today’s sessions, 1:37.4, ending the day in the final, 29th position, just 2.5 of a second from the leader.

“After a promising morning we’ve arrived at a bit of a wall in the afternoon – says Piotr Biesiekirski. – I’m able to lap consistently in 1:37s and pretty much matched my best time from the first session but I can’t seem to improve further so we’ll see what we can do about that tomorrow. The bike is working great though. We pretty much have the same setup as my teammate at the moment and he was really fast today so there’s clearly nothing wrong with the bike. I’m looking forward to putting my head down tomorrow and continue to work hard to improve.”
